Dear Colleagues and Friends, It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 53rd Annual AMHE Scientific Program. The Scientific Commission has worked diligently to assemble an exceptional group of distinguished speakers who will present the latest advances in medical science. We extend our sincere gratitude to the members of the Commission for their dedication, commitment, and tireless efforts in making this program possible. This year's conference, held in both in-person and virtual formats, is centered around the theme: "Medicine: New Frontiers" Our program features two prestigious state of the art memorial lectures honoring the legacies of Dr. André Talleyrand, esteemed pathologist and former CEC member, and Dr. Roland Purcell of One Brooklyn Health, a valued friend and supporter of AMHE. The conference begins with a comprehensive Nephrology Symposium, followed on the second day by a Cardiology Symposium featuring a distinguished hypertension specialist from Louisiana. On the third day, attendees will explore advances in Pulmonary Medicine, with a special focus on Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA). In addition, the scientific program addresses a broad range of topics that are highly relevant to contemporary clinical practice, including diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders, HIV, dermatologic diseases, and malignancies, with contributions from experts at the University of Maryland. Specialized presentations on liver transplantation from Johns Hopkins and indications for cardiac surgery from the University of Miami will further enrich the program. We are also pleased to include two presentations highlighting the growing impact of artificial intelligence in medicine. To extend the educational value of this event, the conference will be broadcast to hospitals throughout Haiti, enabling healthcare professionals across the country to benefit from these important scientific discussions. The CEO of One Brooklyn Health Dr Sandra Scott from New York will honor the group by her active participation.
